A pannier, which comes from the french word for the bread basket, is a bag often referenced as a motorcycle bag or bike bag often lined with a hard bottom, that is hung on the side of a bicycle or motorcycle across the pannier rack or the hard metal frame attached to the vehicle itself. Panniers are used for carrying things by cyclists and are often used in touring and commuting. Panniers' mainstream use is to carry groceries or other items that are too large to fit in a typical bicycle basket or within the motorcycle storage unit under the seat.
There are a few different ways to tie, install or attach a bag on a motorcycle. If the motorcycle bag comes with straps, use them to tie the bag to the metalic construction of the bag frame tightly, if the bag does not come with straps - the most common way is to use bungee cords you can also use durable climbing rope. If you are using bungee cords, make sure to hook them onto something solid on the motorcycle, such as the frame or a luggage rack. If you are using rope or straps, you will need to tie in a strong constrictor knot securely to the motorcycle.
