Caring for a ridged, water-resistant calfskin case

Wipe across the ridges rather than along them with a dry cloth, so the cloth lifts dust out instead of packing it further down. Doing that once a week keeps the pattern reading as sharply as it did on arrival.
For more than dust, use a barely damp cloth and let the case dry away from direct heat. Skip alcohol wipes, solvent cleaners and leather conditioner: the first two strip the water-resistant treatment, and the third has nothing to soak into on a treated panel.
